Dashpot: Testing and Inspection

PREPARATION

Before checking this system, follow these directions:
    Switch off all accessories
    Connect a tachometer to the check connector.
    Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.

Electrical Signal Inspection

1.  

Connect the Engine Signal Monitor (SST Mazda Part# 49 9200 162) using the adapter harness (Mazda Part# 49 9200 163) between the wiring
harness and the engine control unit.

2.  

Set 3C or 3E position on the SST to check the injectors.

Indicator Lamps Lit

3.  

Check that both indicator lamps alternately flash at idle.

4.  

Increase the engine speed to 4,000 rpm, then suddenly decrease it.

Check that only the red indicator lamp stays illuminated during deceleration.
