Thermostat: Service and Repair
THERMOSTAT
Removal
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the engine coolant.
3. Remove in the order shown in the illustration.
Installation
1. Install in the reverse order of removal.
2. Verify that the jiggle pin is aligned with the tab of the thermostat gasket, as shown in the illustration.
3. Install the thermostat and gasket into the thermostat housing, aligning the tab to the housing, as shown in the illustration.
