Clean and inspect the O/D one-way clutch outer race (part of center shaft) and the inner race (part of O/D planet carrier). Replace as necessary.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURES

1.

Install the steel caged one-way clutch into the center shaft with the round edge facing toward the bottom of the center shaft and the shoulder edge
facing out. Refer to Fig. 3

2.

Install the retaining washer into the O/D ring gear with the stamped tabs facing in. See Fig. 4.

NOTE:

The ring gear is machined to accept a retaining washer.
