Canister Purge Control Valve: Testing and Inspection

Vacuum Operated Purge Control Valve

CAUTION:DO NOT apply vacuum to Port C of the purge control valve. Doing so may dislodge the internal diaphragm causing permanent damage.

1.

Vacuum applied to Port A only, should not pass through.
If flow occurs, replace valve.

2.

Vacuum applied to Port B only, should not pass through.
If flow occurs, replace valve.

NOTE: Slight flow should be indicated with the following valves: E5VE-9B963-AA, E4VE-9B963-AA, and E77E-9B963-AA.

3.

After applying and maintaining a vacuum of 16" to Port A, apply vacuum to Port B with a second hand vacuum pump. 
Vacuum to Port B should pass through.
