FUEL GAUGE READS BELOW "FULL"
DESCRIPTION
The fuel gauge reads below "full" when the fuel tank is full. This problem can be remedied by installing a new fuel gauge sending unit.
New fuel gauge sending units have been used in vehicle production since September 20, 1991. Vehicles that do not register completely "full" and were
produced prior to September 20, 1991 should have the new sending unit and fuel pump installed.

INSPECTION & REPAIR PROCEDURE
When a vehicle is encountered with this problem, the fuel pump and sending unit must be replaced. Replacing the sending unit alone will not remedy this
concern. Begin by removing the old fuel pump (ZZL0 13 350A) referring to the Workshop Manual Section F-03-12. Also, refer to this section for the
installation of the replacement fuel pump and sending unit (ZZL0 13 350B).
