Malfunction Indicator Lamp: Testing and Inspection
Malfunction Indicator Light Testing
1.
Connect a jumper wire between terminal 1D (Y/B) of combination meter connector and ground.
2.
Start engine. MIL should light.
3.
If not, check combination meter fuse, MIL bulb and wiring harness between meter and ECU. Repair as necessary.
MIL output voltage can be checked at ECU terminal 1E. With lamp "ON," voltage should be below 2.5V. With lamp "OFF," voltage should be
approximately 12V.
