Drive Belt: Adjustments

Adjustment

Alternator belt
1. Loosen the alternator mounting bolt ®and adjusting lock bolt (B).
2. Lever the alternator outward and apply tension to the belt.
3. Tighten the adjusting lock bolt (B).

Tightening torque (A):  19-25 Nm {1.9-2.6 kgf.m, 14-18 ft.lbf}

4. Tighten the mounting bolt (A).

Tightening torque (A): 38-51 N.m {3.8-5.3 kgf.m, 28-38 ft.lbf}

5. Recheck the belt deflection or tension.

P/S belt, P/S + A/C belt

1. Loosen the P/S oil pump bolt (A) and nuts (B) and (C).
2. Adjust the belt tension by turning the adjusting bolt (D).
3. Tighten the adjusting lock nut (B) and the P/S oil pump bolt (A) and nut (C).

Tightening torque

(A):  37-53 N.m {3.7-5.5 kgf.m, 27-39 ft.lbf}
(B):  19-25 N.m {l.9-2.6 kgf.m, 14-18 ft.lbf}
(C):  32-46 N.m {3.2-4.7 kgf.m, 24-33 ft.lbf}

A/C belt

1. Loosen the lock nut (A).
2. Adjust the belt tension by turning the adjusting bolt (B).
3. Tighten the lock nut (A).

Tightening torque (A):  32-34 N.m {3.2-3.5 kgf.m, 24-25 ft.lbf}
