REC/FRESH AIR LEVER DOES NOT STAY IN THE SET POSITION.

APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VIN(s)
All 1999-2000 Protege with VINs lower than JM1BJ22**Y0 192841.

DESCRIPTION

The REC/FRESH select lever will not stay in the FRESH position when doors are closed (windows rolled-up). Customers having this concern should
have their vehicle repaired using the following procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1.

Verify customer concern.

2.

Remove glove box according to Workshop Manual (section 09-17 INTERIOR TRIM).

3.

Set REC/FRESH select lever to FRESH position.

4.

Pull cable clip tang enough to release the cable.
