DESCRIPTION
The heater does not work efficiently or engine takes a long time to warm-up. This could be caused by a thermostat that is stuck open.
Customers complaining of this subject should have their vehicle inspected, and if necessary, use the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Verify the concern.
2.
Connect the NGS tester and make sure the ECT is less than 170°F before proceeding.
3.
Start engine and run at idle until cooling fan begins to operate.
4. Remove cooling fan relay, B4-01, from inside the main fuse box as shown.
5.
Using a 14 AWG wire or larger, jump the B/R to the Y terminals of the relay socket as shown. This will cause the cooling fan to run continuously.
