NOTE: A new mixture adjust screw will be needed since the old one will be destroyed while removing. Usually idle mixture adjustment is
unnecessary. In case overhaul is necessary due to carburetor trouble, make idle mixture adjustments as follows:
1.
Cool the engine compartment with an additional cooling fan, if available.
2.
Set the parking brake and block the weels.
3.
Switch off all accessaries.
4.
Remove the fuel filler cap.
5.
Disconnect the tube at the idle compensator in the air cleaner and plug the end of the tube.
6.
Check that the dash pot rod and throttle opener (for air conditioner) dose not keep the throttle lever from returning to the idle stop.
7.
Connect an accurate reading tachometer to the engine.
8.
Warm up the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature.
9.
Remove the throttle body and cut out the idle limiter cap.
10.
Fit new mixture adjusting screw .
11.
Set the idle speed to the following specifications by turning the throttle adjusting screw.
Specifications; M/Trans. 770 rpm in neutral, A/Trans. 870 rpm in "N" position.
12.
Set the idle speed at the highest by turning the mixture adjusting screw.
13.
Reset the idle speed to the following by turning the throttle adjusting screw.
Specifications; M/Trans. 770 rpm in neutral, A/Trans. 870 rpm in "N" position.

Screw in the mixture adjust screw and adjust the idle speed to 750 rpm for manual transmission and 840 rpm in "N" position for automatic
transmission.

On the vehicle equiped with automatic transmission, shift the selector lever to "D" position and adjust the idle speed to 750 rpm by turning the
throtle adjust screw.

After idle mixture adjustment is completed, fit an idle limiter cap onto the mixtuer adjusting screw securely.
NOTE: After adjusting the idle speed, the throttle sensor on the carburetor should be adjusted.

Adjust throttle sensor as follows:
a. Disconnect throttle sensor connector.
b. Connect test lamps, Fig. 6, to check coupler and battery.
