Damping Control Actuator: Testing and Inspection

1.

Start engine, then alternately switch on the ``NORMAL'' and ``SPORT'' switches. Check to ensure that shaft of actuator installed on front and rear
damper is operating. If motor is not operating, proceed to step 2.

Turn off engine, then place ignition switch in On position.

3.

Disconnect electrical connector of actuator which is not operating.

Connect positive probe of voltmeter to terminal D and negative probe to terminal A of actuator connector, Fig. 3. With AAS switch in ``SPORT''
position, meter should read 12 volts for approximately 1 second.

Connect positive probe of voltmeter to terminal D and negative probe to terminal C of actuator connector, Fig. 3. With AAS switch in
``NORMAL'' position, meter should read 12 volts for approximately 1 second.

6.

If voltage is not as specified in steps 4 and 5, check for defective actuator(s).

7.

Disconnect AAS control unit electrical connector.

8.

With ignition switch in On position, ensure 12 volts is present at terminal E and ground.

9.

With ignition switch in On position, ensure continuity is present at terminals O and ground.

10.

If voltage or continuity is not as specified in steps 8 and 9, repair or replace power supply or ground circuit. If voltage or continuity is as specified
in steps 8 and 9, control switch and/or control unit may be defective, replace as required.
