DESCRIPTION
On some early production 1989 RX-7s mentioned below, a flat washer was inserted between the hood latch assembly and the shroud panel. This flat
washer obtains marginal clearance between the hood latch assembly and the cooling fan.
When the hood latch assembly is removed, especially during A/C installation, please retain this washer and reinstall it after your work is completed. If
you do not reinstall this washer, a rubbing noise could result.
However, the 1989 RX-7 produced after January 26, 1989 (VIN: K0701373) does not have this washer since the cooling fan has been modified to
increase the clearance of the suspected area, and the above special attention is not required.
