Idle/Altitude Compensator (Non Comp. Controlled): Testing and Inspection
BAC Valve Testing
SYSTEM INSPECTION
1.
Warm up engine and run at idle.
2.
Ground test connector (Green: 1-pin).
3.
Connect a tachometer.
4.
Disconnect BAC valve connector and verify that engine speed decreases.
5.
Reinstall connector.
BAC SOLENOID VALVE CHECK
1.
Disconnect BAC valve connector and check resistance across valve terminals. It should be 10.7 - 12.3 ohms.
2.
Apply 12V and ground to valve terminals. Verify that valve "clicks" when circuit is completed.
3.
If not as specified, replace solenoid valve.
BAC solenoid valve circuit voltage can be checked at ECU terminal 3Q. With ignition switch "ON" or at idle, check terminal 3Q with a DVM. Meter
should read approximately 9V (indicating a duty cycle).
