Hood Latch Release: Service and Repair

HOOD LATCH RELEASE HANDLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Remove the hood latch. See  See: Hood Latch/Service and Repair.

2. Disconnect the 3 hood latch release handle cable guides.

Note the routing of the hood latch release cable.

3. Remove the hood latch release handle bolt.

-

To install, tighten to 11 Nm {1.1 kgf-m, 97 in-lbf}.

4. Using a suitable tool, push up on the tab to snap it off and then slide the handle off the instrument panel.

NOTE:Breaking the tab does not require handle assembly replacement.
