Engine Block Heater: Service and Repair

BLOCK HEATER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - 2.5L

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. See  See: Maintenance/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair/Lifting.

2. Drain the cooling system. See - See: Cooling System/Coolant/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement.

3. Disconnect the block heater electrical connector.

CAUTION:Make sure that the block heater wiring is routed and secured away from rotating or hot components or damage to the wiring may occur. 

4. Remove the block heater.

To install, tighten to 21 Nm {2.1 kgf-m, 15 ft-lbf}.

5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
