Torque Converter Flushing

TORQUE CONVERTER FLUSHING 

Caution:  Do not use mineral spirits or water-based solvents to clean the torque converter. Damage to the transaxle or torque converter can occur. Use
only clean automatic transaxle fluid that is recommended for this transaxle.

1. Partially fill the torque converter using clean automatic transaxle fluid.
2. Hand agitate the converter, then thoroughly drain the fluid.
3. Repeat this procedure until the converter is clean.
4. After flushing, drain the remainder of the fluid.
5. Add 1.9 liters (2 quarts) of clean automatic transaxle fluid and agitate by hand.
6. Thoroughly drain the converter.
7. Refill the torque converter with clean automatic transaxle fluid and install into transaxle.
