DESCRIPTION
Some vehicles may exhibit a clicking or rubbing noise from the left front wheel speed sensor and/or exhibit ABS warning light activation. The left front
wheel knuckle may have been machined incorrectly allowing the wheel speed sensor to contact the tone ring.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify customer concern.
2. Measure air gap between left front wheel speed sensor and tone ring with feeler gage.
-
If 0.02" (0.50 mm) or more, this procedure does not apply. Continue with normal WSM diagnostics.
-
If less than 0.02" (0.5 mm) or evidence of contact, replace left front wheel knuckle according to Workshop Manual (section 02-13 WHEEL
KNUCKLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION) and left front wheel speed sensor (section 04-13 FRONT WHEEL SPEED SENSOR
