CAUTION:Do not allow the axle shaft to move outboard. Over-extension of the tripod constant velocity (CV) joint can result in the separation of
internal parts, causing failure of the axle shaft. 

9. For the disassembly and assembly of the strut and spring assembly, see - See: Suspension Spring ( Coil / Leaf )/Service and Repair/Overhaul.

Installation

1. Position the strut and spring assembly upper mounting plate into the inner fender.

2. Align the 4 new strut upper bushing nuts to the reference marks. 

-

Tighten to 40 Nm {4.0 kgf-m, 30 ft-lbf}.

3. Install the 2 new strut-to-knuckle bolts and nuts.

-

Tighten to 115 Nm {11.5 kgf-m, 85 ft-lbf}.

4. Install the new upper stabilizer bar link nut.

-

Tighten to 63 Nm {6.3 kgf-m, 46 ft-lbf}.

-

Remove the 4 nuts.

5. Install the wheel speed sensor harness bolt.

-

Tighten to 15 Nm {1.5 kgf-m, 133 in-lbf}.

6. Position the brake jounce hose to the bracket and install the brake jounce hose clip.

7. Check the front end alignment and adjust as necessary. See  See: Alignment/Service and Repair/Wheel Alignment Angles.

Rear

SHOCK ABSORBER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Remove the rear quarter trim panel. See - See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Trim Panel/Locations.

2. Remove the wheel and tire. See  See: Wheels and Tires/Description and Operation.

3. Using a suitable jackstand, support the rear suspension.

4. Remove and discard the upper shock absorber nuts, washer and bushing. 

-

To install, tighten to 40 Nm {4.0 kgf-m, 30 ft-lbf}.

5. Remove and discard the lower shock absorber nut, washer and bolt. 

-

To install, tighten to 175 Nm {17.5 kgf-m, 129 ft-lbf}.

6. Remove the shock absorber and the bushing.

7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
