Exploded View - Vacuum Element (39)

REMOVAL:

1. Remove center console.
2. Remove support (70 and 71), as well as angle bracket (72).
3. Pull 2-pole coupler from temperature sensor (6).
4. Pull off vacuum line (arrow) for vacuum element of legroom flaps.
5. Pull out the four clamps (arrow) on air duct-center at front and rear sideways in outward direction.
6. Remove air duct-center downwards to the right.
7. Pull off vacuum line (arrow) on vacuum element (39).
8. Remove clamp (74) from connecting rod.
9. Carefully remove housing top (65) from housing bottom (66), remove spring (68) and sleeve (67).

10. If housing top (65) or sleeve (67) is damaged, remove parts from new vacuum element and install.
11. On damaged housing bottom (66), remove locks (64).

INSTALLATION:

1. When installing a new vacuum element, always use new locks (64) with rubber washers.
2. Plug on vacuum line, mount connecting rod with clamp (74) and check vacuum element (39) for function and leaks.
3. Mount air duct-center with four clamps (arrow) on heater box.
4. Install angle bracket (72) and supports (70 and 71).
5. Plug on vacuum line (arrow) red/yellow for vacuum element of legroom flaps.
6. Plug 2-pole coupler to temperature sensor (6).
7. Install center console.
