Brake Lamp - (Third, High Mount) Installation

SUBJECT:
SUBSEQUENT INSTALLATION OF THIRD, HIGH-MOUNTED STOP LAMP 
MODELS 107, 126 AND 201
M.Y. 1985 AND EARLIER

Procedure

NOTE:

All dimensions given in millimeters (mm).

Model 107

1.

Disconnect and cover the negative battery terminal.

2.

Mark locations and drill holes as specified, for fastening screws (6 mm dia., 4 locations) and wiring harness (35 mm dia., 1 location) from outer
side of trunk lid.

NOTE: 

Drill hole for wiring harness only through outer skin of trunk lid (do not drill through reinforcement frame).

3.

From the inside of the trunk lid, drill out the front fastening holes in the reinforcement frame only (18 mm diameter). Match locate the position of
these holes from the locations determined in step 2.

4.

Mark location and drill hole for wiring harness in reinforcement frame (30 mm dia.).

NOTE: 

Remove all metal shavings.

5.

Apply zinc dust paint to bare metal edges of holes drilled into trunk lid.

6.

Remove right side trunk panel.

7.

Remove steel partition between trunk and fuel tank.
