Power Seat Control Module: Description and Operation

Control modules

The front seat adjustment control module, with memory, driver passenger side (N32/1 or N32/2) control:

-

eight seat adjustment functions9

-

the seat forward / back motor groups (M27m1/M28m1), rear raise / lower motor (M27m2/M28m2), front raise / lower motor (M21m3/M26m3)
and head restraint raise / lower motor (M27m4/M28m4) as well as backrest forward / back (M27m5/M28m5) are identical in both the left and
right-hand seats.

Group categorization

The adjustment functions are split up into three groups. At the same time only one motor can be driven per group.

If the seat adjustment switch is actuated for longer than an adjustment function assigned to a group then the following sequence is adhered to:

Group 1:

Longitudinal adjustment

Rear height adjustment

Group 2:

-

Backrest adjustment

-

Front height adjustment

-

Head restraint adjustment

Group3

-

Steering column adjustment forward/back

-

Steering column adjustment up/down

Position detection for the seat is carried out via Hall sensor at the adjusting function motors.
Rotational direction assignment is automatic.

Storage

Storage is in the front seat adjustment control module with memory, driver side or passenger side (N32/1, N32/2).
