Parking Brake Cable: Service and Repair
AR42.20-P-0525I Remove/Install Rear Brake Control Cable

WARNING

^

Risk of fatal injury due to vehicle sliding or tipping off the hoist, refer to Lifting Vehicle.

Align vehicle between the pillars of the hoist and position the four support plates at the hoist mounting points specified by the vehicle
manufacturer.

Removal

1. Raise vehicle.
2. Remove and install parking brake brake shoes
3. Unhook front brake cable (85) from idler lever (91).
4. Unhook brake cables (86) from compensating lever (92)
5. Unhook brake control cables (86) from holder on the rear axle carrier

Use Unclipping device, tool No. 129 589 11 63 00 (043). 

6. Unscrew self-locking bolt (98) from wheel carrier.
7. Remove brake cable (86) from wheel carrier

Installation

8 Install in reverse order, noting the following:

Replace self-locking bolt (98), tighten to 12 Nm

Replace self-locking bolt (93), tighten to 12 Nm
