Remove/Install Propeller Shaft Intermediate Bearing
Removing

Remove propeller shaft

Put propeller shaft down on workbench
CAUTION: Do not damage front propeller shaft flange (1).

In a straight line, mark the cardan joint (2) from the rear section of the propeller shaft (3), linkage arm (4) and front section of propeller shaft (5)
NOTE: Facilitates installation.

Unscrew bolts (6) and remove clamps (7) from cardan joint
NOTE: 4 bolts, 2 damps

Separate rear section of propeller shaft (3) from linkage arm (4)
CAUTION: Ensure that the cardan joint caps (8) no not fall out.

Unscrew clamp nut (9) and remove shim

Mark inner wedge-splines (10) and linkage arm (4) relative to each other
NOTE: Facilitates installation.

Press linkage arm (4) off the propeller shaft
CAUTION: Do not damage propeller shaft flange (1).

Press intermediate bearing (11) off the propeller shaft
CAUTION: Do not damage propeller shaft flange (1).
Install

Position intermediate bearing (11) on the front section of the propeller shaft (5)
NOTE: The mounting holes point towards the front section of the propeller shaft (5).

Push linkage arm (4) onto the front section of the propeller shaft (5)
NOTE: Align the linkage arm with the wedge splines with the aid of the markings.

Install shim and clamp nut (9)

Clean separating surfaces between the cardan joint (2) and linkage arm (4)

Insert cardan joint (2) in the linkage arm (4) and secure with the clamps (7) and bolts (6)
CAUTION: Pay attention to the correct seating of the cardan joint in the linkage arm.
NOTE: Align cardan joint (2), linkage arm (4) and front section of the propeller shaft (5) relative to each other with the aid of the markings.
