Heated Glass Element Switch: Description and Operation
The heated back window switch and light:

is mounted on the instrument panel.
-
operates with the ignition key in RUN.

has a rocker switch spring-loaded to center position to turn the system on or off.

has a timer-controlled relay that turns off automatically after approximately 10 minutes of operation. If more than 10 minutes are required, the
heated back window switch and light can be reactivated for another 10 minutes by pushing the rocker switch momentarily to the ON position. This
operation can be repeated as required.
The heated back window switch and light operates as follows:

When the heated back window switch and light is pushed to the ON position, the normally open contacts in the control are electrically closed.

This provides power from battery to the back window glass grids and the indicator, triggering the timing circuit.

This contact will remain closed until:

the timer turns it off

the heated back window switch and light is pushed momentarily to the OFF position
-
the ignition switch is turned to the OFF position.

This circuit is protected by RUN Fuse (5A) in the fuse junction panel.
