Front

Brake Hydraulic Hose To Caliper, Front

NOTE:When connecting new brake hoses to a caliper two new copper sealing washers must be used. Positioning of the brake hose is controlled by a
self-indexing brass block. Always inspect position of installed brake hose for clearance to other chassis components.
 
REMOVAL

1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove wheel and tire assembly. Use care to avoid damage or interference with wheel cylinder bleeder screw during removal.
3. Disconnect brake hose from caliper. Remove hollow retaining bolt that connects hose fitting to caliper. Remove front brake hose from disc brake

caliper and plug front brake hose.

4. Remove front brake hose from front brake tube. Remove screw retaining front brake hose to front shock absorber (strut) and screw retaining front

brake hose to front side member.

5. Remove front brake hose.

INSTALLATION

1. Connect front brake hose to front brake tube. Install screw retaining front brake hose to strut and screw retaining front brake hose to front side

member and tighten to 12-16 Nm (107-132 inch lbs.).

2. Remove plug and install front brake hose on disc brake caliper with new copper washer on each side of fitting outlet and insert retaining bolt

through washers and fitting. Tighten bolt to 41-54 Nm (31-39 ft.lbs).

3. Bleed the front brake tube through the nearest disc brake caliper. Always replace rubber bleed screw cap after bleeding.

CAUTION: Failure to tighten lug nuts in a star pattern may result in high rotor runout, which will speed up the development of brake roughness,
shudder and vibration

4. Install wheel and tire assembly using Accutorq(r) or equivalent, or torque wrench. Tighten lug nuts to 115-142 Nm (85-104 ft.lbs).
5. Lower vehicle.
