Coolant Level Sensor: Description and Operation
LOW COOLANT LEVEL SENSOR
The low coolant level warning sensor:

Is mounted in the radiator coolant recovery reservoir.
^
Completes the circuit to ground which will illuminate the LOW COOLANT indicator in the instrument cluster when the coolant level falls below
the predetermined level in the radiator coolant recovery reservoir.
