About the Topaz
The Topaz (1984–1994) was Mercury's version of the Ford Tempo, a front-drive compact built on Escort underpinnings, as a coupe and sedan. The Tempo/Topaz was the first Ford car line with optional all-wheel drive. The Mystique replaced it.
