Twisted or Jammed Safety Belts
If the lap belt retractor jams, free the lap belt by doing the following:

Pull on the belt with both hands to tighten it on the retractor spool.

Feed the belt back into the retractor until it is completely retracted. Repeat previous step, if necessary.

Pull the belt out of the retractor as far as it will go. Remove any foreign matter or untwist the belt, as necessary, and let the belt retract.

Extend and retract the belt about five times to ensure the belt retractor operates properly.
Unfastening Safety Belts
Push release button in buckle and allow belts to unlatch.
Rustproofing
To ensure that no damage occurs to the front seat shoulder strap guide, refer to the illustration for recommended locations for drilling the required
rustproofing wand access holes. Use one of the following drill bits: R-500 12.7 mm (1/2 inch) or equivalent, Rotor Broach with locating pin, RBA-330
(Arbor) or a Unibit VII 12.7 mm (1/2 inch) or equivalent size drill bit.
Drive Belt
Removal
1. Remove track assembly.
2. Remove two screws retaining front A-pillar switch bracket to track assembly.
3. Gently slide shoulder belt retainer forward off track.
NOTE: Drive belt should slide out of track with shoulder belt retainer.
Upper Anchor Assembly
4. Remove shoulder belt retainer from drive belt.
