Cleaning and Inspection
CLEANING
Remove light scuffs, scores, or nicks from the camshaft's machined surfaces with a smooth oil stone. Clean the camshaft in solvent and wipe dry.
INSPECTION
Inspect the camshaft lobes for cracking, pitting, or scoring. Pitting in areas other than the lobe toes is acceptable.
