Villager V6-181 3.0L SOHC VIN 1 EFI (1997)
6. Use a screwdriver to gently pry the front wheel dust shield away from the front axle bearing. Remove the front wheel dust shield from the
halfshaft.
NOTE: When removing the front wheel dust shield, insert the blade of a screwdriver as far in as it will go to prevent damaging the front wheel
dust shield.
7. Use snap ring pliers to remove the small snap ring.
8. Use a press to press the front axle bearing off of the halfshaft.
9. Remove the front wheel dust shield from the front axle bearing retainer.
10. Use snap ring pliers to remove the large snap ring from the front axle bearing retainer.
11. Push the front axle bearing out of the front axle bearing retainer.
12. Use a screwdriver and gently pry off the front wheel dust shield between the front axle bearing and outer race.
NOTE: When removing the front wheel dust shield, insert the blade of a screwdriver in as far as it will go to prevent damaging the front wheel
dust shield.
INSTALLATION
1. Install the front axle bearing in the front axle bearing retainer.
2. Use snap ring pliers and seat the large snap ring onto the front axle bearing retainer.
3. Install the front wheel dust shield into the front axle bearing retainer.
