4. Use a brass drift and hammer and give a sharp tap to the inner race to dislodge the internal circlip and separate the outboard front wheel driveshaft
joint from the halfshaft.
NOTE: Place the outboard front wheel driveshaft joint at an angle in the vise to expose the inner race.
5. Remove the stop ring, if necessary.
NOTE: Remove the stop ring only if it is damaged worn or otherwise unserviceable.
6. Pry the circlip off the end of the halfshaft and discard.
7. Use a brass drift and a soft-faced hammer to gently tap the inner race until it tilts.
8. With the cage sufficiently tilted, remove the ball-bearing from the cage.
9. Continue to tap the inner race until all six ball bearings are removed.
10. Rotate the cage and the inner race assembly until it is straight up and down in the outer race. Align the cage windows with the outer race lands
while turning the cage. Lift the cage and inner race assembly out of the outer race.
