INFORMATION
With the introduction of the R56 and the N12 and N14 engines comes the CBS4 strategy of Conditioned Based Service. Maintenance requirements for
the engine oil are now calculated in the DME (maintenance requirements = the remaining distance and latest date for the engine oil change).

The DME calculation of the forecasted mileage interval is based upon an actual fuel consumption variable. The CBS oil service can also come due in 24
months, after the last CBS reset, if the total fuel consumption value has not been reached. However, it is recommended in the US market to change the
engine oil at least once a year. More details concerning the low mileage annual oil service may be found in SI M01 02 03.

A nominal starting point of 24135 km (approximately 15000 miles) can variably increase or decrease based upon the actual learned fuel consumption
when compared to the set average values of the DME dataset.

It is the total fuel consumption, and not the accumulated mileage, which influences when the oil service will be due.

The displayed mileage until due is only a forecast, and will decrease at a quicker rate once the remaining percentage drops below 50%.
After each oil service and CBS reset, this learned or adapted fuel consumption profile is used to recalculate a new starting point until the next oil service.

Actual fuel consumption values, which differ from the set averages, will effectively influence the displayed forecasted mileage remaining until the next
service.

The table lists the average values currently used in the DME algorithm.
