Removing and Installing/Replacing Inlet Camshaft

11 31 025 - Removing and installing/replacing inlet camshaft (N12)

Special tools required:

-

11 4 481 See: Tools and Equipment/11 4 480 Placement Boards (2 X)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

-

Remove cylinder head cover See: Cylinder Head Assembly/Valve Cover/Service and Repair.

-

Remove adjusting unit See: Variable Valve Timing Actuator/Service and Repair/Removing and Installing/Replacing Inlet and Exhaust Adjustment
Units for inlet camshaft.

-

Remove intermediate lever See: Variable Valve Timing Actuator/Service and Repair/Removing and Installing/Replacing Intermediate Lever.

-

Remove exhaust camshaft See: Removing and Installing/Replacing Exhaust Camshaft.

Important!

The screws of the bearing bridge must not be opened.
Releasing the bearing bridge will result in damage to the cylinder head.
