SRS Control Unit: Removal and Replacement
CAUTION:
1. Never attempt to disassemble or repair the SRS-ECU. If faulty, replace it.
2. Do not drop or subject the SRS-ECU to impact or vibration.
If dents, cracking, deformation, or rust are discovered on the SRS-ECU, replace it with a new SRS-ECU. Discard the old one.
3. After deployment of the air bags, replace the SRS-ECU with a new one.
4. Never use an ohmmeter on or near the SRS-ECU, and use only the special test equipment described.
Pre-removal Operation

Turn the ignition key to the "LOCK" position.
Removal
1. Negative (-) Battery Cable Disconnection
Turn the ignition key to the "LOOK" position, disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery and tape the terminal.
CAUTION: Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the battery cable before doing any further work. The SRS system is designed to
retain enough voltage to deploy the air bag even after the battery has been disconnected. Serious injury may result from unintended air bag
deployment if work is done on the SRS system immediately after the battery cable is disconnected.
2. Remove cup holder.
3. Remove console plug.
