About Mitsubishi

Mitsubishi Motors was formed on 22 April 1970 from the car division of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. For years Chrysler sold Mitsubishi-built cars under its own brands, so many Mitsubishis here have American twins.

Same car, different badge

Eclipse (first and second generations) shares the Diamond-Star platform with the Eagle Talon and Plymouth Laser.
3000GT is the Dodge Stealth, and Starion is the Conquest sold by Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth.
Mirage is the front-drive Dodge and Plymouth Colt, and Expo is the Colt Vista.
Raider is based on the Dodge Dakota, and Precis is the Hyundai Excel.
Montero is the Pajero, sold in the UK as the Shogun.
