Measure the power supply voltage.

Connector: Disconnected

Ignition switch: ON
Voltage (V): Battery positive voltage
OK: GO TO STEP 2
NG: Repair the harness. (A1 - MFI relay)
Check for an open-circuit, or a short-circuit to ground, between the turbocharger waste gate solenoid and the engine control module.

Turbocharger waste gate solenoid connector:
Disconnected

Engine control module connector: Disconnected
OK: STOP
NG: Repair the harness. (A2-41)
Operation Check
(1) Connect a hand vacuum pump to the solenoid valve nipple (A).
(2) Using a jumper wire, connect between the solenoid valve terminal and battery terminal.
(3) Connecting and disconnecting the jumper wire at the battery negative terminal to apply a negative pressure, check tightness.
