The following information is issued to supplement the Body and Sheet Metal Section of the 1983 Cordia/Tredia Service Manual for front bumpers.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
All automatic transaxle equipped Cordia/Tredias and manual transaxle equipped Cordia/Tredias manufactured since February 1, 1983 have a flexibly
mounted front bumper. The bumper appears to be "loose," however, when the engine is idling, the bumper actually serves as a dynamic vibration
absorber to counteract engine movement.
Manual transaxle equipped Cordia/Tredias beginning with the following Vehicle Identification Numbers have flexibly mounted bumpers.
