To provide corrosion protection, Mitsubishi vehicles receive during production a final resin coating on the engine and engine compartment. In some
instances an overspray of this resin has been observed on the upper surfaces of the front fenders and cowl panel. The overspray settles on the paint finish
but does not enter the paint coat itself and it is therefore not necessary to re-paint the affected areas and it is possible to remove the overspray by the
methods described below.

REPAIR PROCEDURES

(A)

Wash the vehicle, dry off and determine the affected areas. To remove the overspray, wipe the affected areas with a suitable solvent:
3M #8984E adhesive cleaner Dupont Prep-Sol solvent or equivalent.
Follow with polishing and waxing until an even gloss is obtained.

(B)

If the above treatment does not bring the desired results due to the age and exposure of the overspray itself, proceed according to the procedures out

Sand Paper-

3M #02021 Imperial Wet-or-dry Color Sanding Paper

Rubbing Compound-

3M #05955 Superduty Rubbing Compound (liquid)
3M #05957 Superduty Rubbing Compound (paste)

Polish-

3M #05988 Final Glaze (non-silicone) or
3M #05939Prep Team Liquid Polish (contains silicone and should not be used or stored in the paint shop area)
