Check the clearance between the outside of the belt and the belt cover on the tension side. Fig. 25.
Clearance:
.40 in. (12 mm).

Remove the screwdriver from the silent shaft access and install and torque the bolt/plug. Fig. 20.
Torque value:
16 - 22 ft.lbs. (22 - 30 Nm).

Install the bottom and top timing belt covers noting the differences in the size of the bolts. Fig. 26.
Torque value:
7 - 9 ft.lbs. (10 - 12 Nm).

Install and torque the crankshaft sprocket bolt and washer. Fig. 28.
Torque value:
80 - 94 ft.lbs. (110 - 134 Nm).

Install the crankshaft pulley and adapter.
Torque value:
11 - 13 ft.lbs. (15 - 18 Nm).

Install the damper pulley. Fig. 28.
Torque value:
11 - 13 ft.lbs. (15 - 18 Nm).

Install the water pump and P/S pulleys (if equipped). Fig. 28.
Torque value:
6 - 7 ft.lbs. (8 - 10 Nm).

Install the alternator belt and adjust the belt tension. Fig. 28.

.16 - .2 in (4 - 5 mm) with 22 lbs. of load at shortest span.
Used Belt Deflection
.22 - .24 in (5.5 - 6 mm) with 22 lbs. of load at shortest span.
