SUBJECT:

NO.
STB-85-14-006
DATE
December, 1985
MODEL
1984, 1985 Cordia/Tredia 2.0L
PURPOSE
This bulletin contains information to correct a condition of engine sag or hesitation which may occur during the first two or three miles of operation after
the engine is started cold and/or a steady-state surge when warm.
VEHICLES AFFECTED
This driveability condition may be corrected on certain 1984 and 1985 Cordia/Tredia models with 2.0L engine. (Remember that driveability is also
influenced by TPS adjustment, jet valve clearances, ignition timing, spark plug condition, and other "basic" factors which must all be in proper
adjustment in order for this driveability kit to do its job.)
PARTS REQUIRED
Six kits are available. Each kit contains one Primary Main Air Jet and one Vehicle Emission Control Information Update Label. Please refer to Table I
below for vehicle applications and part numbers.

PROCEDURE
1.
Remove the air cleaner.
2.
Remove the primary air jet shown in Fig. 1.
NOTE:
A "WD-40" nozzle flattened at one end makes a good removal tool. Hold the choke shut to prevent the jet from failing into the
carburetor.
3.
Install the new Primary Air Jet from the kit.
