Stabilizer Bar: Service and Repair

1.

Raise and support vehicle.

2.

Disconnect stabilizer bar from lower arms and No. 1 crossmember and remove bar.

3.

Disconnect strut bar at lower arm and No. 1 crossmember and remove bar.

4.

Inspect stabilizer bar, strut bar and all bushings, replacing as necessary.

5.

If strut bar nut has been loosened or removed, reset nut so that distance between outer edge of nut and end of strut bar is 3.07 inch

6.

Install strut bar, torquing strut bar to lower control arm bolt to 43-50 ft. lbs. and strut bar to crossmember nut to 101-115 ft. lbs.

7.

Install stabilizer bar and tighten stabilizer bar mounting nuts so that distance between nut and end of bolt is .31-.39 inch

8.

Torque stabilizer bar bracket bolts to 7-9 ft. lbs.
