1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Release fuel system pressure.
3.
Drain engine coolant into an approved container.
4.
Remove engine assembly as outlined under ENGINE.
5.
Remove timing belt as outlined under TIMING BELT.
6.
Remove exhaust manifolds as outlined under EXHAUST MANIFOLD.
7.
Remove air plenum and intake manifold as outlined under AIR PLENUM & INTAKE MANIFOLD.
8.
Remove cylinder head as outlined under CYLINDER HEAD
9.
Remove engine oil pan.
10.
Replace piston and connecting rod in numbered sequence shown in Fig. 41.
11.
Reverse procedure to install.
