Diamante V6-2972cc 3.0L SOHC (1992)
Starter Motor: Service and Repair
1.
Place gear selector lever into N position.
2.
Raise and support vehicle.
3.
Drain transaxle oil and remove side undercover.
4.
Remove air cleaner cover and air intake hose.
5.
Remove electronic controlled suspension compressor assembly leaving hoses attached. Secure to body using suitable wire.
6.
Disconnect transaxle control and speedometer cables.
7.
Disconnect oil cooler lines.
8.
Disconnect inhibitor and kickdown servo switches.
9.
Disconnect pulse generator and oil temperature sensor.
10.
Raise transaxle to release pressure on transaxle mount bracket using suitable jack stand then disconnect transaxle mount.
11.
Remove 4WS pump heat shield and the pump assembly, leaving hoses attached. Secure to body using suitable wire.
12.
Disconnect front height sensor rod.
13.
Loosen tie rod end nut then disconnect tie rod from knuckle using steering linkage puller tool No. MB991113-01 or equivalent. Ensure that tie
cord of tool is tied off correctly.
14.
Repeat step 11 on lower ball joint.
15.
With transaxle properly supported, remove righthand crossmember.
16.
Remove starter electrical connections then remove starter assembly.
17.
Reverse procedure to install.
