A/T SELECTOR LEVER INDICATOR PANEL
PURPOSE
Some affected vehicles may experience discoloration of the lettering on the A/T selector lever indicator panel (shifter plate). This panel is now available
as a separate replacement part.
If the indicator panel becomes discolored or damaged, replace it with the part number listed in this bulletin.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
1997 Diamante models
PROCEDURE
Replace the A/T selector lever indicator panel (shifter plate) as follows:
1.
Set the parking brake and shift the transmission to Neutral.
2.
Remove the floor console trim.
3.
Shift the transmission to Park.
4.
Remove the push button from the gear shift knob as described in Steps 4a. and 4b.
NOTE:
The spring and adjuster will be removed with the push button.
! CAUTION
USE CARE TO PREVENT DAMAGING THE GEAR SHIFT KNOB SURFACES.
