EGR Valve: Testing and Inspection
EGR Control Port Vacuum Inspection

NOTE:  SEE COMPUTERS AND CONTROL SYSTEMS for further information concerning testing of EGR system operation.

EGR Vacuum Port Location

- Engine coolant temperature: 80 - 95° C (176 - 205° F).

1.

Disconnect EGR vacuum hose from the throttle body nipple and connect a hand vacuum pump to the nipple.

2.

START the engine and check to see that, after raising engine speed by racing the engine, vacuum increases proportionately with the rise in engine
speed.
