Ignition Cable: Testing and Inspection
Ignition Wire Inspection
1. Visually inspect the ignition wires for:

Insulation or boots swelling or breaking down (due to fuel, oil or grease).

Terminal ends corroding, cracked or loose.
Ignition Wire Resistance Test
2. Using an ohmmeter, measure spark plug wire resistance between ends.
Acceptable Resistance:
Approximately 7 K - 10 K ohms per foot, (not to exceed 30 K ohms per wire).

Replace the wire if it fails the above test.
