Power Window Control Module: Customer Interest
Power Window - Will Not Raise After Using Auto-Down
NO.: TSB-96-42A-021
DATE: October, 1996
MODEL: 1993-95 Diamante Wagon
SUBJECT:
POWER WINDOW AUTO DOWN
PURPOSE
This bulletin contains procedures for correcting a condition where the driver's door glass fails to raise after being lowered with the auto down switch.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
CAUSE
Sometimes, when the door glass reaches the bottom stops, the motor stall current is too low for the sensing circuit to detect. When this happens, the
module tripping relay fails to "click off," which keeps the window from raising. The window will remain in the down position until the motor
temperature protection activates after the motor has cooled down. When the motor cools down the window will raise normally.
REMEDY
To correct this condition, the current sensing bar must be filed slightly to lower the stall current sensing range of the module. As a result, the motor stall
current falls within the sensing range and is detected, successfully tripping the relay allowing the window to be raised.

PROCEDURE
1. Remove the driver's door switch control unit from the door trim.
2. Unplug the switch from the door wiring harness.
3. Disassemble the switch.
(a) Remove the single screw that holds the yellow back cover onto the switch control unit.
(b) Remove the cover from the switch unit.
(c) Unclip the second printed circuit board from this inside cover.
