Canister Purge Solenoid: Description and Operation

Purge Control Solenoid Circuit

NON-TURBO
The purge control solenoid valve, located on the firewall, is an electromechanical, vacuum switching valve.
When the ECU senses conditions suitable for purge operation, it supplies the ground circuit to the solenoid. The plunger in the solenoid moves,
connecting the inlet and outlet ports. This allows vacuum to be applied to the purge port of the canister.

TURBO
