Knock Sensor: Service and Repair
The knock sensor is located on the cylinder block under the intake manifold. The bracket is centrally mounted to detect knocking from both pairs of
cylinders.
1. Removal of the sensor involves disassembly and removal of the air intake plenum and intake manifold.
2. Using a sensor removal tool, loosen detonation sensor and remove.
3. Install in reverse order making sure to torque sensor to specification. If not torqued to specification engine control can be affected.
Torque: 20 - 25 Nm (14 - 18 ft.lbs.)
