SEAT BELT STOPPER
BUTTON REPLACEMENT
PURPOSE
If the seat belt stopper button becomes damaged, the metal tongue may slide down to the floor of the vehicle. Replacement stopper buttons are now
available (see PARTS INFORMATION below). Do not replace the seat belt assembly for this condition. Replace the damaged seat belt stopper button as
described in this bulletin.

2004-on Galant and Endeavor
2006-on Eclipse
2007-on Eclipse Spyder
PROCEDURE
1.
Remove any remaining pieces of the broken stopper button. Use care to prevent damaging the seat belt webbing.
2.
Slide the metal tongue up, above the location of the original stopper button, and temporarily secure it with removable tape.
3.
Insert the male side of the stopper button from the resin side of the webbing, at the location of the original stopper. Then install the female side of
the button from the other side of the webbing as shown.
